Patriot Saddle

• This is a wool flocked jumping saddle and is exclusive to Stirlingshire Saddlery.
• Designed by Alene Telfer and Louise Smith of Stirlingshire Saddlery and in conjunction with their saddle makers, it is an alternative to traditional close contact saddles that are either felt or foam flocked. We find mostly that these types of saddle do not offer very much support for the typical high wither thoroughbred conformation.
• The Patriot saddle is specifically designed for cross-country riding and jumping.
• The most important feature is wool flocking for easy adjustment. The panels are deeper allowing more support for high hollow withers. It only has 1 flap (a 2 flap version is also available) used with long dressage style girth straps – this allows the rider a much closer contact with the leg.
• Do not despair if you have a broader horse as the saddle can be made with a much shallower panel to fit most breeds.
• The broad panels and gullet give a large weight bearing surface allowing maximum freedom of movement.
• Available in French Calf leather, Buffalo Leather, Plain leather or Suede. Can also be custom made to template.

Stirlingshire Event Saddle

• This is a multi-purpose saddle suitable for every day riding and competition.
• It is wool flocked with broad panels to distribute riders’ weight over a large area of the horses’ back.
• The Event has a generous flap and pencil knee roll which allows the rider to shorten the stirrups for jumping but also allows the opposite for flatwork without the leg coming off the back of the saddle.
• Available in all width fittings and made to template.
• You can have a choice of Plain leather, Schrumph (A hard wearing printed leather for grip) or Suede.
• Black or Brown
• Sizes 17” or 18” – Longer saddles can be made on request.

Grandee Saddle

• This is another multi-purpose saddle geared a little more towards the jumping side. This is our best selling saddle out of our whole range.
• Wool flocked with a substantial weight-bearing surface.
• Can be made with a variety of depths of panel to fit almost any horse. This is especially useful for horses with an under-developed topline.
• Substantial knee blocks for rider security.
• The square cantle and broad seat allow riders more freedom of movement. The square cantle lets the rider move back without getting caught by the saddle during jumping.
• Available in all width fittings and made to template.
• You can have a choice of Plain leather, Schrumph (stocked), or Suede.
• Black, Brown or Fox (reddish brown).
• Sizes 17.5” or 18” – longer saddles can be made on request.

Highland & Cob Saddle

• This is good all round saddle for all disciplines and especially useful for wider breeds of horse or pony.
• It has a very flat tree that sits very level on those “table top” types mirroring the shape of the their backs.
• The flap is slightly less forward cut but still has a generous knee roll for security. The straighter cut works very well for the native breeds, as they tend to have very broad and sometimes loaded shoulders. Also very suitable for working hunter classes.
• Available in all width fittings up to XXX/Wide and made to template.
• You can have a choice of Plain leather (stocked), Schrumph leather or Suede.
• Black or Brown.
• Sizes 17”, 17.5” or 18”

Native Saddle

• The native is a light weight, very flat seated, straight cut saddle with a slim panel to allow closer contact and stability on those wider breeds of horse with broad shoulders.
• The tree design mirrors the shape of this type of horses’ back.
• The native comes in wide, X/wide, XX/wide and XXX/wide.

Working Hunter Saddle

• The working hunter saddle is the same saddle as the native hunter but in the narrower fittings.
• It is very suitable for showing as it is very minimalistic and not at all bulky.
• Available from a medium fitting to XXX/wide and made to template.
• You can have a choice of Plain leather, Schrumph (stocked) or Suede.
• Black or Brown.
• Sizes 17” or 18”.

Jessica Dressage

• This saddle has a broad side and wider waist for those who prefer a wider tree. The thought behind the waist being wider is that women are broader in the pelvic arch than men therefore it would be more suitable for females, however, we do have some men that have bought this saddle.
• Like all of our saddles, it is wool flocked with broad panels for maximum weight bearing.
• It has a relatively deep seat for a secure position.
• Available in all width fittings and made to template.
• You can have a choice of Plain leather, Schrumph (stocked) or Suede.
• Black or Brown.
• Sizes 17.5” – other sizes made to order.

Standard Dressage

• Made on the same tree as our Event saddle with a dressage cut flap. This is a good starter saddle in this discipline with not too deep a seat. It is the least expensive new dressage saddle we stock.
• The saddle has a narrower twist or waist than the Jessica allowing the leg to lie in a longer position.
• Wool flocked for easy adjustments.
• Available in all width fittings and made to template.
• You can have a choice of Plain leather, schrumph (stocked) or Suede.
• Black or Brown.
• Sizes 17.5” or other sizes made to order.

Buffalo Dressage

• This saddle was designed by Alene Telfer and Louise Smith in conjuction with their saddle makers and is exclusive to Stirlingshire Saddlery.
• We felt we needed a more professional dressage saddle in our stock that gives the rider much more “feel”. The buffalo leather is extremely flexible and moulds into position within a couple of days.
• It has a deep seat for rider security and encourages a very long leg position. The girth straps are part web and part leather. The web is very strong but slim and lies under the flap ensuring there are no bulky leather straps under the riders’ leg. The leather part starts at the bottom of the flap for a more traditional look and fastening.
• Available in all width fittings and made to template.
• Buffalo leather.
• Black or brown.
